Chinese Islamic in Rosemead

The dishes served at China Islamic Restaurant have their roots in the northern part of the country. Wheat, rather than rice, is the primary grain, and appears on the table in the form of chewy knife-cut noodles and flat bread stuffed with scallions and coated with sesame seeds. We'll try the lamb with green onions and perhaps a fragrant chicken hot pot to ward off the cold.

Many thanks to Nina for giving us a taste of her delectable handmade chocolate bars at last month's lunch. The BonBonBars, made of local, organic ingredients, will soon be sold online. Learn more on Nina's blog at www.sweetnapa.com.
